About Elizabeth Fei, LAc

Elizabeth Fei, LAc費伊莉

Elizabeth is the owner and acupuncturist of Healthwise Acupuncture, providing house calls based out of Chelmsford, MA.  She is now taking new patients at her new location at King Chiropractic in Chelmsford Center.

Education and Experience

Elizabeth attended the Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College, Berkeley (AIMC Berkeley) in Berkeley, California, graduated Summa Cum Laude a trimester early, and received her Master of Science in Oriental Medicine.  She underwent rigorous training under brilliant acupuncturists from all over the world, including Chinese doctors Benny Zhang, Hua Ling Xu, and Emmie Zhu.  Together, these three doctors have over a century of extensive hospital experience and have had the greatest influence on Elizabeth’s clinical development.

Before grad school, Elizabeth attended Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts for her undergraduate degree.  She graduated Cum Laude and received her Bachelor of Science in Health: Science, Society, and Policy and East Asian Studies in only three and a half years.  Much of her course studies were pre-med.

While going through these programs, Elizabeth also took part in additional internships, which provided her with more clinical experience.  While at Brandeis, she studied Oriental Medicine at the Japanese Acupuncture Clinic under the talented Tamie Taniguchi Bilazzo, L.Ac.  And while at AIMC Berkeley, she  interned at the Homeless Prenatal Program in San Francisco where she specialized in fertility, prenatal care, and postpartum care.

As a result, she has adopted an investigative approach to accurate diagnosing and a gentle and effective style to acupuncture and Oriental Medicine supportive therapies.

She has worked out of five different offices all around the Greater Boston area, treating insomnia, digestive issues, back pain, side effects of cancer therapies, and women’s health.

Awards

Elizabeth was the first ever recipient of the Gold Level Dr. Goto Honorary Scholarship Award “in recognition of her academic excellence, outstanding clinical care, and representation of AIMC Berkeley community ideals,” at AIMC Berkeley.

Fun Facts

  • Elizabeth grew up in a family that was physically located in Massachusetts, but culturally steeped in Chinese tradition.  In her childhood, ancient remedies passed down through her parents’ parents’ parents (so on and so forth) were combined with allopathic medicine to achieve quick and effective health outcomes.
  • Elizabeth excelled in school, especially in the sciences.  She took particular interest in the health sciences early on.  Then her grandfather was in an automobile accident that cost him his mobility from the waist down.
  • After receiving only a couple sessions of acupuncture, her grandfather walked into his next physical therapy appointment, astounding all the doctors who had diagnosed him with “permanent paralysis.”  Deeply inspired at this moment, Elizabeth decided she would pursue Chinese medicine for her life’s work.
  • Elizabeth pursued Chinese medicine to Berkeley, California, where she and her partner lived fulfilling lives.  They enjoyed biking everywhere under the sun and discovering delicious local eats.  They also enjoyed the company of different dogs, cats, rats, and chickens during their many house-sitting gigs.
  • Elizabeth moved back to Massachusetts to be with her family.  She currently lives in Foxborough with her partner and a Maine coon cat, named Boo.
  • She enjoys cooking and baking while always experimenting with new recipes and ingredients for tastier and healthier alternatives.  She is ever looking for good hiking spots in New England in reminiscence of her time in the mountainous San Francisco Bay Area.  She also likes to go into the arts in her free time.

Lizzy has been a tremendous help in assisting me to balance my menstrual periods through use of acupuncture and herbal formulas. I have seen her various times and she has helped me resolve issues with my skin and bronchitis. Lizzy was very compassionate and present with me at each visit.  I highly recommend her as a Chinese medicine practitioner.
